The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Catholics
About 20 years ago, I became certified to teach The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. That was one of the most enjoyable courses I ever taught—not only because I was teaching it, but because I was also living it. Habit 7, Sharpen the Saw, was always my favorite. I never understood why it was the last habit; it should have been the first or second! To this day, I still apply those habits in my life.
Recently, I started thinking: What if we adapted these habits for Catholics? What would be the seven habits of highly effective Catholics?
Our faith is not just something we practice on Sundays. It’s a way of life—a journey of ongoing conversion, growth, and service to God and others. If we could identify seven foundational habits that make a Catholic truly effective in their faith, what would they be?
The Journey Begins
In the coming weeks, I will be writing a series of articles exploring the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Catholics. Each habit will be rooted in Scripture, Church teachings, and practical application for daily life. My goal is to help us all grow in faith, deepen our relationship with Christ, and live out our Catholic identity with purpose and passion.
Your Input Matters
I’d love to hear from you! What do you think are essential habits for living out our Catholic faith effectively? Do you have any spiritual disciplines, practices, or insights that have helped you grow closer to God? Please leave a comment and share your thoughts.
Let’s embark on this journey together and discover how we can become highly effective Catholics, striving each day to hear those words we long for: “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)
