The first step I had to take—and one you’ll need to take too—is getting honest with yourself. What are your strengths? Where do you struggle? What do you believe in? What truly matters to you? When you understand where you’re starting from and where you want to go, that clarity becomes your compass. It’s hard work, but it’s worth it.
Set Goals That Matter
If you’ve ever set a New Year’s resolution that fizzled out by February (haven’t we all?), then you already know that vague goals don’t work. I’ve learned to set SMART goals—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Want to get healthier? Learn a new skill? Get promoted? Make it concrete. Write it down. Let it guide your daily decisions.
