Verse of the Day:
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.”
— James 1:2–3 (NLT)
No one signs up for brokenness.
No one says, “God, please send me a season that will stretch me, undo me, and break me down.”
But if we’re honest—those are often the seasons that shape us the most.
When things fall apart, when your heart breaks, when life doesn’t make sense—God doesn’t waste any of it. In fact, He often does His best work in the cracks.
Broken Is Where Strength Begins
We try to avoid pain. But Scripture tells us to consider it joy when trials come.
Why?
Because God uses trials to strengthen our faith, build endurance, and prepare us for what’s next.
Think of it like this:
You don’t become strong without resistance.
You don’t develop courage without fear.
You don’t build trust without having to actually trust in the unknown.
In God's hands, your breaking becomes your building.
Fire That Purifies
Gold is purified in fire.
Clay is shaped through pressure.
Faith is proven in testing.
If you're in a breaking season right now, don’t believe the lie that you’re being punished. You’re being prepared. You’re being stretched, refined, and made into someone braver and bolder than you were before.
God isn’t finished. He’s forming something beautiful—even if all you can see now are the pieces.
Journal Prompt
What area of your life feels “broken” right now?
How might God be using that very area to strengthen or shape you?
A Prayer to Start Your Day
Father, I don’t like the breaking. I don’t like the pain or the uncertainty. But I believe You are at work—even in this. Take the broken pieces of my life and create something beautiful. Give me strength, courage, and peace while I wait for the healing. I know You’re not done with me yet. Amen.
