Day 4 – Buried and Risen: Living the Reality of the Resurrection
The Gospel Isn’t a Metaphor—It’s a Power That Changes Everything
Reflection: The Gospel Is Not a Theory—It’s a Historical Reality That Reshapes Everything
“He suffered death and was buried, and rose again…”
This isn’t poetry. This isn’t a symbol. This is history—and it changes everything.
Jesus really died. He was beaten, crucified, buried in a tomb. His followers grieved in despair. And then—when all seemed lost—He rose.
The resurrection is not just the climax of the story—it’s the foundation of our faith. It tells us that death is not the end. That pain doesn’t have the last word. That even the darkest chapters in your life can be rewritten by God’s power.
But here's the truth: Sometimes we live like Saturday, not Sunday. Like Jesus is still in the tomb. Like our own stories—our broken relationships, our past mistakes, our lost dreams—are beyond resurrection.
They’re not.
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to you today. Not in theory. Not someday. Right now.
Application: Invite Resurrection Into What Feels Dead
Today, I want to invite you to be honest:
What area of your life feels buried?
It might be a dream you’ve let go of, a relationship that’s broken, or a part of your heart that feels numb or hardened.
Write it down. Name it. Bring it into the light.
Then ask Jesus—not with perfect faith, but with a mustard seed of it—
“Lord, bring resurrection life to this.”
He knows how to raise what seems lost. That’s what He does.
Journal Prompt:
Where do I need to hope again?
What would it look like to believe Jesus can bring life into that part of my story?
