A Sacred Silence
Scripture Reading: Luke 23:44-56

Reflection: The Depth of Sacrifice
The death and burial of Jesus mark the culmination of His earthly mission. At the moment of His death, the temple curtain is torn in two, symbolizing the end of the separation between God and humanity. Jesus’ sacrifice opens the way for all to enter into a relationship with the Father.
As His lifeless body is taken down from the cross and placed in a borrowed tomb, the world enters a sacred silence. It is a time of sorrow, reflection, and anticipation.
